Method of Ministry

The method of ministry for Turning Point can be summarized by the following five doors that are found throughout Scripture. As God opens each door, we boldly step through to gain access to the next door. They are subsequent in experience, meaning that serving and loving others must come first and be a priority, and the rest of the doors will open naturally after that.

Door #1
The Door of Ministry:
“For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries” I Corinthians 16:9

Going through the door of ministry is simply about taking opportunities to serve people by meeting their needs in a very real and natural way. From helping someone financially, to offering a word of encouragement, to saying a prayer with someone who is hurting, we can help people in need if we will see the open doors of ministry that surround us each and every day. People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.

Door #2
The Door of Preaching (utterance)
“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:” Colossians 4:2-3

As we spend time ministering to, or serving others, they will see the genuine love of Christ in our lives, and know that we really care about them and their needs. In most cases, this will allow us access to another level of their lives, they will listen to what we have to say. We don’t minister or serve someone just to get to talk to them about Jesus, rather we serve people with a genuine heart of love because of the love of Jesus in us. Then, if the door of utterance or preaching opens up, and the opportunity to tell them about Jesus Christ and His love comes, go through!

Door #3
The Door of Faith

“And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.”
Acts 14:27

The Bible tells us that when people hear the Word of God, that faith comes. “So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17) As we begin to share with people that Jesus loves them and wants to have a personal relationship with them, faith will come alive within them! They will have faith so that you can lead them through the next door, the door of salvation.

Door #4
The Door of Salvation

“…Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
John 10:7-9

The Bible tells us that there is only one way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ, the Door of Salvation. Not only does salvation mean eternal life, but through Jesus Christ, we have available to us, help, safety, deliverance, aid, victory, prosperity, healing, and everything else that Jesus died and rose again to give us!

Door #5
The Door of Destiny

“…behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”
Revelation 3:8

The last door, which can only be reached after we pass through the door of salvation, is the door of destiny. The only way to reach your true destiny and be truly fulfilled is to come to this door that is only found on the other side of Calvary. Jesus died to give each of us an abundant and fulfilled life. (John 10:10) God’s got your destiny in mind. He has an awesome plan for your life to bring you to an expected and blessed end (Jeremiah 29:11), which is spending your eternity ruling and reigning with Him! Walking out your salvation and doing what you were destined to do is the most rewarding and fulfilling thing you will ever experience.
